Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon.
We offer a wide variety of courses that fulfill Category I and II requirements. We offer many courses to help fulfill the requirement of 6 ethics credits per renewal period. Requirement takes effect Jan. 1, 2011.
CADC Renewal Requirements:
1) 40 hours total of continuing education.
– 20 hours minimum in Category I (Alcohol & Drug Counseling Education)
– 20 hours maximum in Category II (Counseling Education)
– All 40 hours can be Alcohol and Drug specific training
2) 6 hours of the 40 hours must be in Ethics
3) 2 hours of the 40 hours must be in Tobacco Dependence/Prevention
CRM Renewal Requirements:
1) 20 hours total of continuing education
– all 20 hours can be addiction and recovery specific
2) 6 hours of the 20 hours must be in Ethics
CPS Renewal Requirements:
1) 40 hours of prevention continuing education
2) 6 hours of the 40 hours must be in Ethics
CAGC Renewal Requirements:
1) 40 hours total of continuing education.
– 20 hours minimum in Category I (Gambling Counselor Education)
– 20 hours maximum in Category II (Counseling Education)
– All 40 hours can be Gambling Specific
Initial Licensure:
ACCBO accepts 150-300 hours of our distant learning courses for initial licensure depending on your licensure type. Please be sure to check Board regulations regarding specific content requirements for initial licensure.
