CE REQUIREMENTS FOR RENEWAL:
- Thirty (30) hours of continuing education (CE) for Physical Therapists. Twenty (20) hours of continuing education (CE) for Physical Therapist Assistants.
- A minimum of one (1) CE of Human Trafficking Prevention Training approved by the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) as mandated in HB 2059 during the 86th Legislature in 2019. We do not offer a course that meets this requirement. - A Passing score on the Jurisprudence Assessment Module (TX JAM). The TX JAM fulfills the jurisprudence and ethics/professional responsibility renewal requirement. APPROVAL OF CE ACTIVITIES:
Per the Board, all activities used for renewal purposes must be approved through the Continuing Competence Approval Program (CCAP) administered by the Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA), the organization selected by the Board to review and approve courses and providers of continuing competence activities.
If a course has not already been submitted for approval by the provider or sponsor, it is the responsibility of the licensee to submit it for approval to TPTA prior to license renewal. A course may be submitted for approval before or after a licensee attends it, but must be approved prior to the date of the license renewal. Our courses have not already been submitted to the TPTA for approval.
