Rule §194: Biennial Requirements
Unless exempted under §198, licensees shall successfully complete document and report to the board at least 30 hours of board-approved continuing education courses or activities in the biennial renewal period. No carryover of continuing education hours from one renewal period to another shall be allowed. Continuing education will be granted in the reporting period in which the academic coursework, clinical instruction, tool, residency, or fellowship is completed.
Of the 30 hours, the following is required:
- Jurisprudence: a minimum of 2 CE hours. Attend a live seminar hosted by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board or pass the online Jurisprudence Exam at https://www.laptboard.org/index.cfm/page/104
- Ethics: a minimum of 2 CE hours
- Clinical and/or Administrative: a minimum of 26 CE hours
