Continuing education submitted must be within the current two-year period and must be submitted with your renewal application by September 30 at midnight.
Per the board page: “Please be advised that pre-approval for courses offered is not required. We will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of physical therapy.” (Retrieved 7-25-24)
If your license was obtained by exam within the past calendar year:
- You are not required to complete continuing education hours.
- You are required to complete a minimum of 2 hours of Alabama Jurisprudence continuing education. For a list of known Alabama Jurisprudence providers that are accepted: https://pt.alabama.gov/conted.aspx
If your license was obtained by endorsement/score transfer within the past calendar year:
- You are required to submit 10 hours of continuing education per two-year renewal period.
- Of the 10 hours, 2 hours must be earned through Alabama Jurisprudence continuing education. For a list of known Alabama Jurisprudence providers that are accepted: https://pt.alabama.gov/conted.aspx
After initial renewal:
- Licensees are required to submit 10 hours of continuing education per two-year renewal period.
- For years that end in “0” or “5” (2025, 2030, 2035, etc.), 2 of the total 10 hours must be earned through Alabama Jurisprudence continuing education. For a list of known Alabama Jurisprudence providers that are accepted: https://pt.alabama.gov/conted.aspx
If you plan to see patients without a referral:
