The Board of Occupational Therapy examines and issues licenses to qualified occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants. The board also investigates complaints involving therapists and disciplines practitioners when necessary.
As a condition of license renewal, a licensee must complete 16 hours of continuing education per biennium. Additionally, licensees must be certified and in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (“NBCOT”) or other board-approved certification program.
The Board will not pre-approve continuing education experiences. A licensee must maintain continuing education requirements in compliance with NBCOT or other board-approved standards.
