On July 1, 2023, physical therapist and physical therapist assistant licensure transitioned from the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners to the South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy.
To renew a license, a physical therapist and physical therapist assistant shall complete 30 continuing education hours during the two-year license period.
Each physical therapist and physical therapist assistant must sign a statement to confirm completion of the continuing education hours required on the license renewal application, and must present proof of completion if requested by the State Board of Physical Therapy.
