A licensee who obtains a license during the first twelve months of any 24 month reporting period shall complete 12 CE hours before the end of the current reporting period. Subsequent renewals require a minimum of 24 CE hours during the 2 year period preceding the license renewal date.
- A licensee may carry over up to 6 excess CE hours from one consecutive licensure period to another.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the licensee to assure that the selected courses meet his or her individual needs to maintain knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice. The Board does not require pre-approval of specific courses or providers. Core job specific requirements of your chosen industry of occupational therapy DO NOT count toward continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. Examples include: CPR, first aid training, documentation courses, ethics courses, and training in coding, billing or payment systems.
