This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who provide services to or seek knowledge on assisting parents to express love to their children and understand their developmental needs. Whether unfamiliar or familiar with some of the concepts involved in this material, you can benefit from information in this course. According to the authors, each child expresses and receives love through one of five different communication styles. A parent’s love language may be totally different from that of his or her child, which causes hurt feelings and misunderstandings. With the help of these tapes, adults can discover their child’s primary language and learn what they can do to effectively convey unconditional feelings of respect, affection, and commitment that will resonate in their child’s emotions and behavior.
This course is based on the book and cassette, The Five Love Languages of Children created by Gary Chapman, Ph.D., and Ross Campbell, M.D.

Dr. Chapman, is the author of the best seller the Five Love Languages. He directs marriage seminars throughout the country and counsels married couples. His titles include Toward a Growing Marriage, Hope for the Separated, and Building Relationships.
Dr. Campbell is the author of How to Really Love Your Child, which has sold over one million copies. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and conducts seminars on parent child relationships. Some of his book titles include: How to Really Love Your Teenage, Kids in Danger, and Getting a Clue in a Clueless World.
