About the Course

“Putting Positive Youth Development Into Practice” was conceived to provide those interested in youth development with a solid understanding of the theory behind the PYD approach. It offers practical advice for those launching and running programs that support the development of young people. Topics include the theory behind PYD, examples of promising practices, and ways youths can collaborate with many types of organizations in their efforts to promote PYD.

  2. Identify the characteristics of programs that promote PYD.
  3. Cite examples of promising practices resulting from the implementation of the PYD approach.
  4. Compare some ways youth, communities, and state and local governments can collaborate in efforts to promote PYD.
