This course is based upon an article published in the November 2005 issue of The Counseling Psychologist journal. This course covers the growth of online counseling, related ethical dilemmas, and practical approaches for addressing these ethical dilemmas. The course also provides ideas for addressing various aspects of equipping professionals for delivering online mental health services. The material explores multiple aspects of online counseling including supervision, marketing, access, limits of use, and many challenges that may be presented to practitioner engaging in online counseling.

Demonstrate potential barriers to the use of online and counseling and develop knowledge for overcoming those barriers.
Demonstrate the potential strengths of online counseling while contrasting those strengths with potential weakness of this intervention form.
