About the Course

The webinar “Bearing Bad Tidings: Delivering a Difficult Message,” provides comprehensive guidelines on how to tell a family that their loved one has died or been seriously injured. You will learn about what personal preparation and pre-notification planning to conduct prior to meeting with the family; how to actually make the notification; how to respond and what to do after the notification is made; as well as tips for managers who have to notify their employees of the death or serious injury of one of their colleagues. Although we all hope to never have to deliver such terrible news, this possibility is a reality that many organizations must face. After this one hour webinar you will be better able and equipped to deliver bad tidings, should the need ever arise.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, Bearing Bad Tidings: Delivering a Difficult Message created by Dennis Potter, LMSW, CAADC, CCS, FAAETS in 2014.
