About the Course

Domestic violence poses a serious threat to women’s physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Each year, many of the millions of women who are battered by their partners look to the civil protection order system as a way to stop the abuse. This document provides guidance for all professionals working to ensure that the promise of the civil protection order system is realized.

This course is based on the reading-based online article, Civil Protection Orders: A Guide to Improving Practice created by National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges in 2010.
