After taking this course, you should be able to:
Identify groups with increased suicide risk.
Explain the reasons why American Indians/Alaska Natives, individuals bereaved by suicide, those in justice and welfare settings, people who engage in nonsuicidal self-injury, and individuals who have attempted suicide are populations who are at high-risk for suicide.
Describe the proactive factors of suicide for individuals with medical conditions, people with mental health and/or substance use disorders, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered populations, members of the Armed Forces and veterans, men in midlife; and older men.
