This article reviews a long-term follow-up cohort study of 324 transgender individuals who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery (SRS). This research study defines transsexualism; discusses current treatments; discusses methodology of the study; reviews all-cause mortality, psychiatric morbidity, and crime statistics following sex reassignment surgery; discusses the implications of this research; and makes recommendations.

Describe and discuss the results of the current study regarding outcome measurements of the transgender subjects in this study who had undergone sex reassignment surgery (SRS), and identify the implications of these results.
Identify the strengths and limitations of the current study, and discuss recommendations and conclusions.
