Tania Woods is a clinical social worker who assists law enforcement agencies by providing relevant mental health training to officers. In this role, she organizes the CIT trainings across the entire state of Oklahoma and provides mental health in service training to police officers, probation and parole officers, and correctional officers. She also teaches the mental health block for the basic police academy, for the Oklahoma counsel on Law enforcement education and training, as well as other academy cities.
Carl Pendleton, Med, Master Police Officer, Norman, Oklahoma Police Department
Master Police Officer Carl Pendleton has been a police officer with the city of Norman, Oklahoma since 2009. Carl has a passion for teaching and instructs multiple disciplines including domestic violence investigation, cultural awareness and bias, and teaches at the Norman Police academy. He is a CIT officer and trainer. He serves as a Police Recruiter and as a Public Information Officer.

Course Objectives:
After taking this course, you should be able to:
Describe and discuss the development and the composition of a successful Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training team.
Identify and discuss the methods for developing partnerships between law enforcement and behavioral health providers.
Describe the obstacles and challenges which are inherent to crisis intervention/response and discuss the systems of response when working from recovery-oriented principles.
