In this pilot study, the feasibility of implementing a digital and remotely delivered Measurement-Based Care (MBC) system into substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in a community setting was evaluated. The study involved 30 patients receiving SUD treatment and eight clinicians providing treatment. Patients were sent a weekly questionnaire called the “weekly check-in” via text message or email for 24 weeks, and the results were summarized on a clinician-facing web-based dashboard. Results showed high engagement rates, with patients completing an average of 85.8% of the expected check-ins and clinicians logging into the dashboard regularly. Both patients and clinicians rated the system’s usability and clinical utility favorably. The study suggests that incorporating a digital MBC system into SUD treatment is feasible and can offer benefits in terms of engagement and user satisfaction. Further research is needed to explore the sustainable implementation and clinical benefits of MBC in community SUD treatment settings.
