About the Course

This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who seek knowledge about the impact of false traumatic childhood memories. Whether unfamiliar or familiar with some of the concepts involved in this material, you can benefit from information in this course.
The authors’ research as shown that false traumatic childhood “memories” can be readily induced in adults, who then enrich the implanted memory with detail and emotion. The results of such studies and a lack of evidence of memory repression lead the authors and other psychologists to attribute the wide prevalence of recovered memories of childhood sexual abuse and satanic ritual abuse to therapist bias.

This course is based on the book, The Myth of Repressed Memory: False Memories and Allegations of Sexual Abuse created by Loftus, Elizabeth, Ph.D. & Ketcham, Katherine, Ph.D.
